P-22 was a wild male mountain lion that lived in the heart of Los Angeles at Griffith Park. He famously crossed two major Southern California freeways to establish his territory. He became the beloved mascot for urban wildlife preservation and inspired the 101 Freeway wildlife bridge project. He was euthanized in December 2022 after being struck by a vehicle and diagnosed with severe concurrent health issues.
